Philippine-Sports-Commission-logoThe Philippine Sports Commission (PSC), in partnership with digital banking leader Maya, has launched the “Championing the Pinoy Athlete” program, an initiative focused on enhancing the local sports ecosystem through digital innovation.

Central to this collaboration is the automation of financial support, streamlining the distribution of allowances to athletes and coaches via Maya’s digital platform. This move is part of a broader effort to digitize PSC’s operational framework, improving efficiency and transparency across key processes.

Operational Improvements & Financial Empowerment

The program also introduces a centralized digital system for National Sports Associations, aimed at strengthening governance and promoting accountability within the sports sector.

In addition to operational improvements, the initiative emphasizes financial empowerment. Maya will offer tailored financial solutions, including savings, credit, insurance, and investment products, to help athletes, coaches, and PSC personnel build long-term economic resilience.

The partnership extends to fan engagement strategies, with plans to enhance the experience at major national sporting events such as the Batang Pinoy and the Philippine National Games.

Athletic Support

Shailesh Baidwan, Maya Group president and Co-Founder of Maya Bank, stated: “This partnership is about more than technology—it’s about giving our athletes the support they deserve both on and off the field.”
Overall, the initiative aligns with PSC’s commitment to advancing sports governance through innovation, transparency, and inclusive community involvement.

Philippine National Games

The 2025 Philippine National Games (PNG) will serve as a premier multi-sport event designed to highlight the nation’s elite athletic talent while reinforcing grassroots sports development. Established as a strategic platform, the PNG plays a vital role in identifying potential members of the national training pool who may represent the Philippines in major international competitions, including the Southeast Asian Games, Asian Games, and the Olympics.

The 2025 Philippine National Games will be held in General Santos City from October 25 to 31, 2025.

Can You Bet On The Philippine National Games?

Yes, you can bet on the Philippine National Games and competitions with legal online sportsbooks that offer odds for the events. You may also find some domestic sportsbooks that carry odds for events held outside of the country, but since current gambling laws prevent betting on competitions held within the country, your best bet is going to be online.

In the past, we have seen little action available for the PNG; however, popular sites like BetOnline and MyBookie generally have the most betting options for Philippine sports.
