Is Betting On The World Cup Legal in The Philippines?
Filipino residents can legally bet on the 2022 World Cup through licensed offshore sportsbooks. There is a domestic option available through MegaSportsWorld (MSW), but access is restricted to Philippine gamblers aged 21+ who are considered VIP bettors with extensive gaming histories. For most Filipinos, offshore sportsbooks are the better option. There are no Philippine gambling laws against residents using offshore sportsbooks that are legally licensed and regulated by an outside jurisdiction.

2022 FIFA World Cup Playing Structure
The 2022 World Cup begins with the Group Stage. The four teams in each group play each other one time. Winners get three points, draws result in a point for both teams, and losses reward zero points. At the end of the Group Stage, the top two teams advance to the Round of 16.
Once the elimination games kick in, the point system is abandoned. Games resulting in a tie at the end of regulation will go into extra time. If there is still no winner after an additional 30 minutes, the game goes to penalties. The winners of Group A play the Group B runner-up, and so on.
The remaining eight teams play out a quarterfinal. The four teams from there play a semifinal match, and then the last two will play in the final. A third-place game is played before the final.

Philippines Run At The World Cup
The Philippines Men’s National Soccer team has seen checkered success throughout its existence. They have never qualified for a World Cup, though they have performed well in Asian tournaments. The squad won their first qualifying match over Yemen for the 2018 World Cup. Unfortunately, they lost in the second round and missed out on qualifications.
2022 World Cup Betting Structure
World Cup betting lines are no different than the lines you will find for both domestic and international matches in offshore sportsbooks as far as layout goes. Bettors can either place wagers on the point spread, make money line bets or bet on the total (over/under) of the final result.
There are a high number of prop bets available for each game of the World Cup. You can also find live betting and mobile betting lines available throughout the tournament. The number of wagers will lessen as more teams get eliminated, but there is lots of money to be made off successful World Cup wagering.
We recommend you follow the tournament closely to remain up to date with injuries, squad rotations, etc. Odds will adjust based on the conditions of teams, so it is important to remain vigilant over the month-long event.
