Intro To Rugby

The Philippine Rugby Football Union (PRFU) is focused on retaining and developing talent for the future generation of the sport. To obtain their goal they have created many development programs that often include children or young adults. The Philippine Volcanos are the national rugby team that represents the islands of the Philippines in the international rugby union. The team was formed in 2006 and has already won in Division 4,3,2, and 1 of the Asian 5 nations. Currently, the men’s 15s team is a division 1 team. The team has participated in the Asian 5 nations tournament since its initial conception in 2008. The Volcanos even took first place in the tournament a few years back. The Ladies have already had success with both there 7 and 15 teams making them one of the most respected teams in the division despite only being active for a few years.

Philippine Volcanos Under 19

The Philippine Volcanos also have the under 19 team that consists of boys and girls under the age of 19. This team is used to recruit players for future national teams. To be considered for the team players must match specific qualifications including; born in the Philippines, 1 parent or grandparent born in the Philippines, 3 years of uninterrupted residency in the Philippines. Eligible players are asked to fill out additional information and to submit their application online for consideration.
