The 2023 Southeast Asia (SEA) Games are just around the corner, and the Philippines have confirmed the 814 athletes that will represent the country at next year’s competition.
The 2023 SEA Games will be held in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, and feature 608 events across 49 sports from May 5th to May 16th. The Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Rep. Abraham Bambol Tolentino told the press that “It’s again a fighting team, and the goal is to send the best full contingent as possible.”
The 2023 games will offer 608 gold medals, more than ever in the history of the games. The games will feature athletes from 11 countries: Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, Timor-Leste, and Vietnam.
In 2019, the Philippines won the SEA Games with a total of 387 overall medals and 149 Gold medals. The following is the number of participants per sport for Philippine athletes at the 2023 SEA Games:
