Asa Miller, a Filipino-American skier, will likely be the lone representative for the Philippines in the 2022 Bejing Winter Olympics set to begin February 4th.
Miller was born in Oregon but has roots in Santa Cruz, Manila. Miller competed in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, where he placed 70th out of 110 in the giant slalom event. The 2022 Olympics will be the second time Miller has competed for the Philippines. Miller will also have the honor of carrying the Philippine flag in the opening ceremony.
In 2022, Miller will compete in the giant slalom and the slalom event. He announced his qualification via Instagram.

PSC Budget for Winter Olympics
The Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) recently announced that they would release P3.3 million to support athletes participating in the 2022 Olympics.
While Miller will likely be the only athlete to qualify for the Winter Olympics, there is hope that Brandon Leitner, a 17-year-old skier, will also be eligible for the games if the Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) earns another slot.
Betting On The Winter Olympics
While betting odds for Philippine athletes will be slim due to the number of participants, Filipinos can still bet on the Winter Olympics with Philippine legal sports betting sites online.
Given that Miller did not win a medal at the last Winter Olympics, it is unlikely that he will see his name on the odds boards, but the Philippines, as a whole, could show up in some props or futures.
Betting on sports in the Winter Olympics include skiing, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, luge, and many more. Fifteen sports will be played in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
