Pacquaio vs Thurman 2020

Keith Thurman told the media in a press release that he was going to knock Pacquaio into retirement. This Saturday he will get his chance as he enters the ring to fight the legend Manny “Pacman” Pacquaio.

Manny Pacquaio (61-7-2)

In the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao is more than just a boxer. He is a role model, a celebrity, and a Senator. From day one, Pacquiao has always stayed true to his Filipino roots and has shared his many successes with his homeland.

This Saturday will be a true test to Pacquaio’s legacy as he fights Keith Thurman, an undefeated champion who is ten years his junior. Thurman has not lost a professional fight, but he looked like he was going to lose his last fight, but in the end, Thurman won the decision against Josito Lopez.

Pacquaio’s last fight wasn’t an impressive win either. In January of 2019, Pacquaio fought Adrian Broner another American fighter who said he was going to knock him into retirement, but it didn’t turn out the way Broner planned. Pacquaio was awarded the unanimous decision after 12 rounds. Pacquaio has told reporters that he plans on retiring from boxing in 2021.

Keith Thurman (29-0-1)

Thurman is an American fighter coming off an injury that kept him away from the sport for nearly two years. He currently holds the WBA welterweight title and will be defending his belt against Pacquaio. Before his elbow injury, Thurman was known for his knockout strength.

Thurman got his professional start in Tampa, Florida twelve years ago. Since then he has accumulated 22 knockouts in 30 total fights. He has not lost a fight but does have one no contest on his record.
