Pac Man Punch

Manny Pacquiao is undoubtedly the most popular fighter from the Philippines and one of the most popular active professional boxers in the world.

Manny is coming off a decisive victory against American Keith Thurman, who was favored by some online sportsbooks. The fight wasn’t a thriller, but Manny held his ground and showed several explosive moments. The fight garnished Manny his most recent WBA Super World Welterweight title and delivered Thurman his first professional loss.

Manny, who recently turned 40, told the world that he plans on fighting a couple more years. He wants a rematch against Floyd Mayweather Jr., but as time goes on, it is looking less likely. Recently there were rumors that Pacquiao and Mayweather were talking contracts, but that doesn’t seem to be the case now.

There has been much speculation about who will fight Manny Pacquiao next, and the obvious choices are Danny Garcia, or Mikey Garcia (no relation). Both fighters are a part of the Premier Boxing Champions and wouldn’t present any obstacles for Manny to schedule. Mikey Garcia is coming off a loss to Errol Spence Jr., where he had to move up two weight classes for the fight. Danny Garcia’s last fight was a TKO victory over Adrian Granados, but he has recent losses to Keith Thurman and Shawn Porter.

Insiders predict that the next likely opponent will be Danny Garcia, but the ball is ultimately in Pacquiao’s court. Manny’s current professional fighting record is 62-7-2, and as champion, it is finally his decision who he fights next. Manny’s fans want to see him win, but they also expect a great fight.

Betting on boxing has increased in popularity over the last decade, and now Filipinos have multiple legal ways to bet on their favorite boxer. Mobile sportsbooks that operate from offshore are considered legal due to the fact that they are not mentioned in federal law. Philippine gambling laws strictly forbids betting on sporting events held in the Philippines at PAGCOR-regulated sportsbooks.
