Joshua Munzon is a current PBA basketball player who plans to represent the Philippines at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
Munzon was born in Los Angeles, California, in 1995 to a Filipino father and American mother. He graduated from the California State University in Los Angeles, where he perfected his NCAA Division 2 basketball skills.
Before Munzon entered the PBA draft, he played in several international leagues, including the ASEAN Basketball League, the Thailand Basketball League, a PBA Developmental League, and the FIBA 3×3 Chooks-to-go Pilipinas league.
Joshua Munzon rose to fame when he was selected #1 overall in the 2020 PBA Draft by Terrafirma Dyip. Currently, the 2021 PBA season is on hold due to the National Capital Region restrictions in place to stop the spread of the coronavirus.

When asked if he thinks he can help bring the Pilipinas to Tokyo, he stated, “It’s going to be tough but possible.” Munzon went on to say that they have already beat the number one team in the world and that his team has a great heart. Munzon then noted that the team wants to make the country proud and their goal is to qualify the Pilipinas to Tokyo.
Munzon told reporters that he has always wanted to compete in the Olympics but didn’t think it was possible until 3×3 basketball was added as an official Olympic event.
The 2021 Tokyo Olympics was initially scheduled to occur in 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the event was pushed back to 2021. According to the Associated Press, Japanese residents oppose hosting the games due to the current situation, but the games will go on as scheduled.
Philippine online sportsbooks will offer odds on the Olympic games once the matchup is announced. You can also find odds on PBA games at reputable online sportsbooks operating offshore.
Philippine gambling laws do not forbid offshore gambling on basketball or other sports. Still, they suggest that Filipinos only play at licensed sites as an accredited gaming regulator governs them.
