For the first time in history, a Philippine/Japanese woman has won the US Open Women’s Golf tournament.
Yuka Saso was born in San Ildefonso, Bulacan to a Filipino mother and a Japanese father. She fell in love with golf at an early age, and her parents thought it would be best for their family to return to the Philippines, where she could perfect her craft.
Saso rose to prominence in the Philippines after winning two gold medals in the 2018 Asian games golf tournament. She would also win the 2018 Philippine Ladies Open later that year. Now that she has won the 2021 US Open (Women) tournament, she has solidified her name in history and became a role model for Asian women’s sports.

Betting on Golf
Online sportsbooks that cater to the Philippines tout golf odds for both the men’s and women’s major tournaments held worldwide. It is common to find future odds and props for these events, and now, Saso will likely be a favorite for future events.
Popular sportsbooks like BetOnline offer golf futures for the big tournaments typically a few weeks before they happen. Bettors who chose Saso to win the US Open won a good chunk of money given she was unknown going into the major tournament.
Online sportsbooks also offer odds on exhibition golf tournaments such as the Match that will feature Phil Mickelson/Tom Brady against Bryson DeChambeau/Aaron Rodgers scheduled for July 6th, 2021.
In addition to golf odds, other Philippine sports that are often covered by oddsmakers include the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) games, Olympic events, and other sports that feature Philippine athletes. You will also find odds for international sports such as Boxing, American basketball, football, hockey, and more.
For avid golf bettors, now is the time to jump on the Saso bandwagon as she has proven herself and is hot off the biggest win of her life.
