Rising tennis star and Philippine national Alex Eala is representing the Philippines on a world stage and climbing up the tennis rankings.

So far, 2022 has been the best year of her tennis career after she won her second pro tennis singles title in April. Eala recently reached a career-best ranking of World No. 214 after she finished a three-week schedule that included a semi-final finish at W80 Poitiers in France. She also reached the finals in the W60 tiff in Spain but ended up finishing in second place. To add to her breakout year, Eala also won the US Open Singles Championship to earn a third Jr. Grand Slam title.

At only 17 years of age, Eala earned a spot on the Philippines woman’s national tennis team and represented her county at the 31st Southeast Asian Games held earlier this year. The most recent SEA games took place in Hanoi, Vietnam and Eala took home three bronze medals for team Philippines.

Betting On Tennis

Online sports betting sites offer odds on tennis from tournaments around the world. In addition to hardcourt odds, you will find betting lines for other sports, entertainment, and politics from around the world. The sportsbooks we review offer men’s and women’s tennis odds and prop-builders, crypto bonuses, and other cool features to enhance your sports gambling experience.

Betting on sports is popular worldwide, but there is also a lot of confusion surrounding legal online sportsbooks in the Philippines since there are no clear laws or guidebooks to online gambling.

Is Online Sports Gambling Legal In The Philippines?

Online sports betting is legal in the Philippines according to Philippine gambling laws. Laws state that domestic gambling services cannot be offered online without a license from the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR), the government entity that oversees the gaming industry. Still, it is suggested that residents only play licensed and regulated sites from trusted gambling regulators.

PAGCOR was created in 1975 by the Philippine government to oversee domestic casino gambling in the country. Over the years, PAGCOR has generated massive revenue for the country, and the gaming district has exploded. In 2019, during the infamous COVID-19 pandemic, PAGCOR started issuing Philippine Offshore Gambling Operators licensing so that domestic casinos could stay afloat and earn revenue during restrictions.

POGO licenses still exist today but have recently come under intense scrutiny after several businesses and Senators have expressed their distrust of the industry.
