There is a welterweight title unification bout scheduled for this Saturday between unbeaten Errol Spence Jr. and rival world champion Shawn Porter. This fight will name the best welterweight champion in the world and will probably lead to another title fight against Manny Pacquaio in 2020.
Errol Spence Jr. vs. Shawn Porter
Errol Spence Jr. is the current International Boxing Federation (IBF) Welterweight Champion with a professional record of 25-0. The former US Olympian has held the IBF record since 2017. In August of 2019, Spence was ranked as the world’s fifth-best active boxer by BoxRec.
His opponent Shawn Porter is the current World Boxing Council (WBC) Welterweight Champion and has held his title since 2018. Porter’s professional boxing record is 30-2-1. He lost his IBF Welterweight belt in 2014 to Kell Brooks in a fight that he lost by a decision.
The World Championship Unification between Spence Jr. and Porter will air on PPV September 28th, 2019, at 9 pm EST. The fight will take place in Los Angeles and will be available for streaming on the web or through your cable provider for $74.99.
