Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr. are back in the ring and ready to exchange blows in a just-announced 8-round exhibition fight. The fight is scheduled to take place on Sept. 12th in Carson, California, and will be a pay-per-view event. Tyson is currently 54 years old and hasn’t fought since 2008, Jones Jr. is currently 51 years old and hasn’t fought since 2018.

The California state athletic commissioner Andy Foster has confirmed that Tyson and Jones Jr. are reserving the date at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson. Foster also told the press that the fight will be an exhibition match and that the two fighters will wear 12oz gloves.

This fight will likely be viewed as a publicity stunt or a money grab other than an actual competition. Early betting odds already have the power puncher Mike Tyson favored to win the fight.

Commissioner Foster did mention that he expects YouTube star Jake Paul and ex-NBA star Nate Robinson to be added to the ticket.

Mike Tyson has sparked the interest of many when he started posting Instagram videos of his workouts earlier this year. Since his renewed fame, Tyson has gone on to announce the formation of his legends only league. In the video below, Tyson states that the league will feature athletes from many different sports, and his league will give these so-called legends the chance to relive their glory days.
