PBA Cup Dunk

The PBA Cup is the most prestigious of the three tournaments played annually in the Philippine basketball league. The competition does not allow PBA teams to hire outside players or foreign imports and has been played annually since 1975. In recent years San Miguel Beermen has dominated the tournament winning the last five contests.

The Beermen made their PBA debut on Sunday, March 8th, 2020, when they defeated the Magnolia Hotshots 94-78. The game was close until the second quarter when the Beermen outscored the Hotshots 27-15, which would end up being the deciding factor in the game. The Beermen had three outstanding players: T. Romeo (19 pts), A. Santos (18pts), and M. Tautuaa (20pts).

The Beermen were a little concerned considering with one of their star players is currently injured and will miss the rest of the season. June Mar Fajardo fractured his shin in February from what coaches believe is continued stress from playing non-stop. Despite his injury, he was still awarded his 6th straight PBA MVP award.

The PBA Cup will conclude in May 2020 when the two top-performing teams will face off for the coveted Philippine Cup trophy. The San Miguel Beermen are the current favorites coming off their win over the Hotshots.

Betting on the PBA is allowed online with the use of offshore sportsbooks that service the Philippines. Despite the common misconception, Philippine gambling laws do not outlaw betting on sports online. Only domestic sportsbooks operating from inside the Philippines are barred from offering betting lines on sporting events that take place on local soil.

PBA Cup betting lines can usually be found online at reputable offshore sportsbooks such as BetOnline. BetOnline offers numerous bonus offers, including a new account bonus of 100% up to $1,000 (USD). You can also find odds for other popular basketball leagues around the world, including the NBA, NBL, and more.
