While moving the Philippine Cup back to the Pampanga Province is still up in the air, PBA commissioner Willie Marcial has not ruled the idea out as Metro Manila is set for two weeks of extreme lockdown.
Last week Marcial told the media that the league is looking to resume the Philippine Cup at the site of last year’s expensive bubble. Batangas Province was the PBA’s primary choice for relocation, but due to its current quarantine classification, that does not seem to be a viable option.
The Pampanga Province is currently under more relaxed conditions located just north of the Metro Manila capital region. They are also the spot of the last year’s bubble conference, so they are already accustomed to what is expected to continue play.
Marcial also stated that they will need a few days before relocating and that the league has not investigated other locations if Pampanga also goes under restrictive lockdown.
