The 2021 Philippine Cup started play on July 16th and is expected to conclude by the end of October. Now that Barangay Ginebra eliminated Phoenix Super LPG over the weekend, the final eight teams are set.

The current teams still in play are as followed:

  1. TNT Tropang Giga
  2. Meralco Bolts
  3. Magnolia Hotshots
  4. San Miguel Beermen
  5. NorthPort Batang Pier
  6. Rain or Shine Elasto Painters
  7. NLEX Road Warriors
  8. Barangay Ginebra San Miguel

The 2021 Philippine Cup tournament has had its ups and downs as this year’s tournament has been in disarray due to COVID. Seven games have been postponed due to the virus outbreak, but now that the tournament has been moved to Bacolor, Pampanga, things should go smoothly until a winner prevails.

Quarterfinals

The Philippine Cup quarterfinals started Sunday with Magnolia defeating Rain or Shine (81-70) and San Miguel defeating NorthPoint (88-87).

The 2021 Quarterfinals bracket below illustrates the teams still in the competition and how many games they must win to advance to the semifinals.

Betting on the 2021 Philippine Cup

Betting on the PBA is allowed via online sportsbooks available to Filipino residents. Since current gambling laws forbid domestic sportsbooks from offering odds on events within the Philippines, online sportsbooks are many bettors only option to wager on the competition.

Future odds typically carry more value to the bettor the further away the competition is from concluding, so now would be a good time to bet on the Philippine Cup winner. You can also bet on individual matchups with game lines that offer moneyline bets, over/under, and totals.

Who Will Win The 2021 Philippine Cup

Going into the tournament Barangay Ginebra San Miguel was the clear favorite because they won last year’s tournament. However, those odds fell when they had to win an elimination game to win the quarterfinals’ final spot.

Before last year’s tournament, the San Miguel Beermen won 5 Philippine Cup tournaments in a row dating back to 2015.

Odds now favor TNT Tropang Giga as they have only lost one game in the current tournament, but now that we are down to the final eight teams, competition should be more challenging.
