Senator Manny Pacquiao has successfully transitioned from the boxing ring to fighting on the judicial floor, but that does not mean he won’t soon return to his Boxing roots.

According to multiple reports, Pacquiao has mentioned that he would like to fight two fights in 2021 but said that politics would be his main focus until legislative sessions end in March.

Theoretically, if Pacquiao scheduled a fight for April, he would still have eight months to prepare for another fight before the end of the year. However, an April fight is unlikely because he would need time to train. Skeptics are also debunking the above-said scenario since the coronavirus is still limiting gatherings of people in a confined space.

Pacquiao’s aide, Choi Garcia, told the press that he doesn’t see Manny fighting without crowd involvement. He also went on to say that “He draws energy from the crowd,” and “No one knows when his next fight will be.”

In recent months Pacquiao rumors have exploded online after Conor McGregor tweeted that his next fight will be against the famed Filipino boxer.

While it is now known that McGregor’s next fight will actually be at UFC 257 on January 23rd, 2021, against Dustin Poirier, it is unclear if the Pacquiao boxing exhibition bout will even take place. Both Pacquiao and McGregor have confirmed that their teams are negotiating the details; however, nothing has come to fruition.

Betting on Boxing and Pacquiao’s next fight comes in several legal forms depending on the fight’s location. As long as the contest is held outside of the Philippines, Filipinos will be allowed to bet on the match with domestic sportsbooks like MegaSportsWorld, giving they offer lines for the event.

Another popular platform many Filipinos are utilizing includes PH online sportsbooks that operate offshore. These offshore sites can offer more betting lines to the Philippines because they are operating outside of the country that restricts betting on local events. Since PH gambling laws restrict domestic betting services, most PBA, MMA, and Boxing bettors turn to online sportsbooks to get their favorite sports betting lines.

Regardless if Pacquiao fights two times, once, or slips into early retirement due to the pandemic, he will be remembered as one of the greatest professional boxers of all time. While fans are hoping to see him in the ring a couple more times, Pacquiao has made it known that he is nearing retirement from the sport. At 42 years of age, Pacquiao has made it clear where his intentions lay, but it is so hard to walk away from a sport that has brought him fame, fortune, and an overall greater good to the community he loves.
